What still works on your Dyson V8
- The trigger works as before.
- Every power mode works, MAX included.
- Motorised heads spin as usual, from the Motorhead to the mini motorised tool.
- Wands, filters and the bin are unchanged.
- The Dyson’s own battery lights stay off: check the charge on your battery’s gauge.
- When the battery runs low, the adapter stops the vacuum to protect it.
- The light on the side of the adapter is green when all is well and red when power runs low.

Fitting it to your Dyson V8
It only takes a few minutes, and nothing on your Dyson needs to be modified.

Undo the 3 screws
One is on the right side of the handle, the other 2 at the bottom left, between the bin and the battery. Keep them: you will need them again.

Slide the Dyson battery out
It comes straight out of the handle.

Fit the adapter
Slide it in where the battery was and put the 3 screws back.

Click on your battery
Your Ozito 18V PXC battery locks onto the adapter. Pull the trigger and clean.

Which Dyson V8 models does this adapter fit?
It fits the Dyson V8 range: HH15, SV10, SV10D, SV10E, SV10K, SV25. It does not fit the Dyson V8 Cyclone, SV55.
Will my Dyson V8 run as long on your Ozito 18V PXC battery?
Runtime comes from the battery, not the adapter: a 5.0Ah Ozito 18V PXC battery lasts roughly twice as long as a 2.5Ah one. For this pairing use 3.0 Ah or more, because a smaller battery can sag under what a Dyson V8 draws and cut out before it is empty.
Could this damage my Ozito 18V PXC battery or my Dyson V8?
Used with undamaged, compatible equipment it is not expected to. This adapter has its own Battery Management System, which cuts power before the battery is drained too far, so it protects the battery even where the battery has no protection of its own. Stop using it if the adapter becomes unusually hot, the contacts look damaged, or the vacuum behaves oddly.
Can I charge through the adapter?
No, and it should never be attempted. The adapter carries power one way only, out to the Dyson V8: there is no charging circuit inside it, and the vacuum’s dock cannot charge through it. Always take the Ozito 18V PXC battery off the adapter and charge it on its own charger.
My Ozito 18V PXC gear came from Bunnings. Is that the same platform?
Yes — Bunnings is where Ozito 18V PXC is sold, so a battery or tool bought there is the platform this adapter is built for. What matters is the socket, and Bunnings stock is the reference for it.
Does it work with third-party Ozito batteries?
Usually. What matters is the socket, not the badge: if the battery slides on and locks the way an original does, the adapter takes it and the Dyson V8 runs. Aftermarket moulding does vary, so if yours looks unusual send us a photo and we will check before you order.
How much does it add to the Dyson V8?
109 g (3.8 oz), plus your battery, which sits under the handle where the original battery was. You notice the extra weight on stairs or when reaching up high; on floors it soon feels normal.
