This adapter is for powering your vacuum and nothing else. It cannot charge Kobalt or Dyson batteries and must never be connected to a charger or the vacuum’s dock. Always take the battery out of the adapter before charging, and charge it on the original charger made for your Kobalt 24V battery.

Yes. 24V is what a Kobalt 24V battery measures off the charger with no load; 21.6V is what it holds in use. The adapter takes it from there, so your Dyson V7 gets the power it is built for.
Will my Dyson V7 run as long on your Kobalt 24V battery?
Runtime comes from the battery, not the adapter: a 5.0Ah Kobalt 24V battery lasts roughly twice as long as a 2.5Ah one. For this pairing use 3.0 Ah or more, because a smaller battery can sag under what a Dyson V7 draws and cut out before it is empty.
Could this damage my Kobalt 24V battery or my Dyson V7?
Used with undamaged, compatible equipment it is not expected to. This adapter has its own Battery Management System, which cuts power before the battery is drained too far, so it protects the battery even where the battery has no protection of its own. No, and it should never be attempted. The adapter carries power one way only, out to the Dyson V7: there is no charging circuit inside it, and the vacuum’s dock cannot charge through it. Always take the Kobalt 24V battery off the adapter and charge it on its own charger.

Yes — Lowe's is where Kobalt 24V is sold, so a battery or tool bought there is the platform this adapter is built for. What matters is the socket, and Lowe's stock is the reference for it.
Does it work with third-party Kobalt batteries?
Usually. What matters is the socket, not the badge: if the battery slides on and locks the way an original does, the adapter takes it and the Dyson V7 runs. Aftermarket moulding does vary, so if yours looks unusual send us a photo and we will check before you order.
